The Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) has nurses visit young, first-time mothers. The nurse visits early in the pregnancy up until the child is 2 years old. NFP helps women develop good health practices. These practices include getting prenatal care, eating healthy, and less substance use. Nurses also help mothers improve their child's health so they grow up as healthy as possible and begin to learn. They also help plan future pregnancies when it comes to life goals.
