Medicaid provides health insurance coverage for people who are low-income. Currently, states may require Medicaid recipients to work in some way. States may require that you work at least 80 hours each month, be searching for a job, or that you work as a volunteer. This is known as the Medicaid work requirement. Research shows that many people could lose their Medicaid coverage based on this policy. Some states that implemented this requirement have reversed course.
