Gun violence impacts overall community health in a multitude of ways. From court system costs, evolving suicide rates, and access to physical and mental health care providers, to adverse childhood experiences, stunted economic development, and losses to employers, gun violence has its finger on the pulse of our communities.

There have been more than 340 mass shootings in the United States in 2017, and even more instances of gun violence where fewer than four people at a time have been shot. We know that gun violence takes an emotional toll on those connected, while also creating a feeling of being unsafe in your own home or neighborhood, which on a whole is not healthy for any community.

If you’re doing something to address gun violence in your community tell us about it on Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments.
