Nearly one-third of rural U.S. residents do not have access to broadband internet at home. This is much more than the 4% of urban residents who don't have internet at home. Without internet access, these rural residents arent able to be a part of the online economy. Tribal residents face this same challenge. This difference has gotten worse during COVID-19 because many companies and businesses have moved to remote and online work.
